The Hope Lake Lodge and Convention Center at the Greek Peak Mountain Resort in Cortland, New York has achieved LEED certification under the LEED for new construction rating system certification.
“LEED certification identifies Hope Lake Lodge & Convention Center as a showcase example of sustainable design and demonstrates leadership in transforming the building industry,” says S. Richard Fedrizzi, president, CEO, and founding chairman of the U.S. Green Building Council. “In honor of this impressive achievement and in appreciation of Greek Peak’s participation in LEED, certificates recognizing the accomplishment were awarded.”
The resort is building the only double black diamond glades run in Central New York, the Labyrinth, which is located between Hercules and Trojan. Additionally, Greek Peak Mountain Resort operates an adventure center with a mountain coaster, four tandem zip lines, and a 10-lane winter snow-tubing center.
Set within 7,000 acres of state protected land, the Greek Peak Mountain Resort-the largest Central New York ski resort-was founded in 1958 and offers 33 trails, six aerial lifts, two surface lifts, a beginners’ slope, and terrain parks. The four-season resort is located in New York’s scenic Finger Lakes Region and also features three restaurants, a spa, fitness center, and a 41,000-square-foot indoor waterpark.
