Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa has been named to the Leadership Level of the California Green Lodging Program. Leadership Level hotels are required to achieve a minimum field survey score of 300 and have written environmental policies in place that meet the program’s criteria, including recycling, energy efficiency, freshwater resource management, and hazardous materials management.
The hotel minimizes energy outputs by using electricity in rooms and meeting space only when necessary, as well as recycles materials such as cooking oil, batteries, light bulbs, glass, aluminum, and even the crayons used by kids in the restaurants. Towels and linens are changed every three days to encourage water conservation; low-flow showerheads, sink aerators, and toilet tank diverters are also in place.
