The JW Marriott Marquis Miami has received Florida Green Lodging Program designation for its sustainable practices. To earn the designation, hotels must implement and sustain a variety of green practices, including using water conservation measures through low-flow-plumbing fixtures and linen reuse programs, along with the promotion of energy efficiency through the installation of Energy Star appliances and programmable thermostats. The waste reduction criteria are met through the provision of recycling opportunities; the purchasing of items in bulk, including recycled materials; and the recycling of ink and toner cartridges. All designated properties must also use green cleaners and high-efficiency air filters.
