The Royal Portfolio has expanded its Royal Malewane collection in South Africa’s Greater Kruger National Park with the debut of Masiya’s Camp, a modern tented experience designed by Royal Portfolio cofounder Liz Biden.
Named after a local legend and envisioned as a modern meeting place between wilderness and refinement, Masiya’s Camp reimagines the safari vernacular through a lens of comfort, craftsmanship, and color.
A bold take on the safari experience
A departure from traditional safari minimalism, the camp is infused with vibrant hues drawn from the bush itself.
Each of the six tented suites is individually themed, showcasing layered palettes of dusty pinks, African blues, earthy greens, and vintage florals. Custom East African and Indian doors, Marrakesh-style ceramics, and bespoke furniture are layered with natural materials like wood and canvas, Persian rugs, vintage-inspired patterns, and romantic draping as well.
The suites also boast a private sala, outdoor lounge, dining space, an indoor-outdoor shower, and a heated plunge pool.
At the heart of the property, communal areas include a dining tent, a curated boutique, a bar, and a shared heated pool, offering guests a blend of relaxation and a seamless connection to nature.
