MGM Resorts International has released its Environmental Responsibility Report, which outlines the company’s sustainable strategies and recent achievements in going green. The report also details MGM Resorts efforts in the core areas of energy and water, green building, waste and recycling, supply chain, and outreach and education.
As of the end of 2010, the company:
- reduced electric power consumption by 140 million kWh
- reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 56,000 metric tons
- reduced water consumption by 200 million gallons
- diverted more than 33 percent of its waste from local landfills
- introduced the first fleet of CNG-powered limousines,
- implemented organic and sustainable food strategies at its 165 restaurants
