The LEED Gold certified CityFlatsHotel, a locally owned boutique property, will expand in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. CityFlatsHotel’s parent company, Charter House Innovations, plans to begin renovations immediately.
In 2011, CityFlatsHotel opened its Grand Rapids location in the city’s historic Fox Jewelers building before expanding into the Hinman building when it opened its event space—the Ballroom@CityFlatsHotel—in 2012. The addition, Events@CityFlatsHotel, will inhabit what was once the Louis Benton Steakhouse, and, when combined with the Ballroom@CityFlatsHotel, will provide four total spaces suitable for many event types.
The expansion will provide guests with new event space, a blow dry bar, and a salon. Future CityFlatsHotel properties will also be designed to achieve LEED certification.
