A new development known as A Chicago Convention Center will target LEED platinum certification and zero carbon emissions. The multi-hotel complex and convention facilities will feature a number of green elements, including an on-site hydrogen phosphoric fuel cell plant, solar technology, geothermal heating/cooling, rainwater collection, ice-based thermal energy storage, green roof, 100 percent allergen-free facilities, and hybrid shuttle vans.
