The Element Ewing Hopewell has earned LEED certification, the first hotel in New Jersey to do so. All 127 guestrooms are outfitted with EnergyStar appliances; water-saving bath fixtures; and recycling bins for paper, plastic, and glass. The property minimizes waste with recycled paper towels in the kitchen, filter systems for drinking water to replace plastic bottles, and silverware and glassware instead of disposable products. Showers feature dispensers for shampoo/conditioner and body wash, rather than wasteful mini-bottles.
Other key eco-friendly design elements include low-VOC paint, carpeting made with recycled content, spaces flooded with natural light, CFLs, and green cleaning products.
