Sandos Caracol Eco Resort & Spa in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, has completed upgrades to 128 of its guestrooms while adhering to its ecological standards. Outfitted in furniture made using certified wood, the accommodations offer baths with dual volcanic rock sinks. Environmentally sensitive features include an air conditioning system with low power consumption, a solar system to heat the water, an internal lighting system based on energy-efficient LED, and in-room water coolers. Additionally, the resort installed a new recycling system for waste water.
The resort’s recent renovation also includes the new BBQ Chill Out Café with a wedding gazebo located on the beach, a gaucho restaurant, and a luxury beach club and bar featuring live music.
