Trump SoHo has announced plans to purchase renewable power from Green Mountain Energy Company, a retail provider of cleaner energy and carbon offsets. The hotel will purchase more than 5.5 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of wind energy annually from Green Mountain over two years and in the process will offset 100 percent of the property’s annual electricity usage, which generates an estimated 4.6 million pounds of CO2.
“We regard this as a wise business decision on all levels,” says Trump SoHo general manager David Chase. “It is a responsible move for the hotel and it respects the values of our guests who are as concerned as we are about protecting and caring for the environment.”
