The Westin Copley Place in Boston is Starwood’s first U.S. hotel to join Green Hotels Global, an environmental program that requires sustainable hotels to disclose their carbon footprint, energy consumption, water usage, and waste generation associated with room-night usage and event bookings.
Since 2008, The Westin Copley Place has decreased its carbon footprint-reducing electricity usage by 13 percent, reducing gas consumption by 19 percent, cutting steam usage by one-third, saving over 25 million gallons of water, and recycling 130 tons of trash annually.
