NeueHouse is a members-only club for entrepreneurial artists and creative professionals. How does this iteration of coworking inform hospitality, and vice versa?
The world is now full of confluence. This convergence of moments, needs, and experiences is driving how people think about work, social moments, wellness, and sleep. Thus, we are seeing a natural evolution of workspaces influencing hospitality. At NeueHouse, we believe gracious and warm hospitality in both design and service is fundamental to creating a high-performance, creative atmosphere.
You joined the company nine months ago. What attracted you to the position and where do you see the company headed?
We have done a deep dive into the world of design, art, and sensory moments to create properties that feel like home yet also deliver monumental creative inspiration to our members and employees. Our approach to growth is slow, thoughtful, and dedicated to selecting projects that have architectural significance.
How would you describe the brand?
We are striving to create a world-class creative system. Thoughtful, creative, impactful, and purposeful—all underpinned by a deep sense of credibility.
What ideas have you taken from your previous life creating Generator Hostels?
Generator was about having a firm point of view and being rigorously devoted to the design and experience that I created there. Our team at NeueHouse has this same passion to deliver design with a real point of view, and we always want to fulfill our customer promise. These two ideas are our shining beacons.
How do you see coworking evolving in the next five years?
Our team views the market as if it were a barbell. There will be a continued rush to fill the middle, commoditized bar, and this will take up 80 percent of the market. The other 20 percent will consist of developing both the budget sector and the high-touch, specialized place-based experiences.
