I’m most proud of: Accepting a job offer in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, after being given only 24 hours to decide. I had never even traveled outside of the U.S. When I received the call, I felt I had no choice but to jump. I immediately began releasing all my attachments: informed my friends and family, closed out all accounts, gave away the majority of my belongings, and minimized my life into two suitcases, one duffel bag, and a backpack. Ten days later I was living in the Kingdom of Wonder.
What can we expect of our guestroom experiences in the next 5 years? 100 percent personalized and all navigated through our phones. Ethically sourced materials and sustainable designs will be required, not optional—as typical as designing with ADA codes.
Trend you’re loving? Any and all things terrazzo.
Where do you escape? My home is my sanctuary—filled with plants, incense, candles, and things I’ve collected from my travels around the world. This is my peace and how I relax.
What can’t you live without? Chips and guac!
