Project: Atlantico at Alton, Palm Beach
With “a lively edge to its laidback, Santa Barbara-inspired vibe,” tennis superstar Venus Williams’ design studio V Starr Interiors created a model unit, clubhouse, and amenity spaces for the luxury residences Atlantico at Alton in its backyard of Palm Beach, Florida to complement the surrounding white sand beaches, golf courses, and neighborhood feel, says vice president Sonya Haffey. “In the same way that hospitality has sourced feelings of coziness and comfort from the residential sphere with the rise of Hygge,” she says, “we found inspiration in the sense of community that is created in multifunction spaces usually found in hotels.” Colors and textures come together harmoniously in the clubhouse kitchen, where a gray and white patterned backsplash is paired with mirrors and sconces. Elsewhere, shades of gray and rich blue playfully contrast warm wood and rattan furniture. “Our design softened hard architectural elements like iron and stone with subdued shades and plush, flowing fabrics,” she adds, while subtle beachy accessories and expansive windows allow natural light to pour in, a key element that unites the spaces.
