As a wellness blogger and natural foods chef with a cult following, Lily Kunin took her talents off the webpage, out of the kitchen, and into a brick-and-mortar in New York last September. What manifested was Clean Market, a diverse wellness outpost that aims to promote complete wellbeing. “Our customer is anyone who is looking to invest in their health and feel good in their body,” says Kunin, who still maintains the Clean Food Dirty City website with clean-eating recipes that she personally concocts paired with beautiful photographs. “I wanted this space to be a trusted resource for the best products and services, while providing an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the city.” Ironically, Kunin’s Clean Market is located right in the middle of said hustle and bustle, on East 54th Street in Midtown Manhattan. Thanks to a calming and decidedly minimalistic interior—designed by New York firms Heitler Houstoun Architects and Homepolish—the wellness hub is a tranquil refuge for the weary. The space and its diverse range of offerings are meant to be traversed like a modern, choose your own adventure—one that is completely on-brand to Kunin’s all-natural lifestyle. “Whether you are stopping in for a matcha and superfood salad from our grab-and-go, restocking pantry and supplement staples, or you make an afternoon of it and relax in our thermotherapies lounge while sipping a latte—here, all things wellness are under one roof,” she says. “That is something I have never seen before.”
