Montalba Architects, a Santa Monica-based architecture and design firm founded by David Montalba, FAIA, SIA, has welcomed architect Phillippe Marmillod (shown above) to the Lausanne-based team, and recognizes the achievements of five individuals—across both offices—who have contributed to the success and growth of the award-winning architecture firm. The promotions reflect the accomplishments and contributions of the emerging leaders throughout their various tenures. Recently completed international marquee projects from Montalba Architects include residences like the Vertical Courtyard House, Riviera Loft and GG15, and hospitality projects such as Whitepod Eco-Chalets and Nobu Hotel Palo Alto.
PHILIPPE MARMILLOD, SENIOR ASSOCIATEÂ (Lausanne, Switzerland)
Marmillod joins Montalba Architects with more than two decades of design experience and will be instrumental in leading and managing projects within the Swiss office. Throughout his mostly Switzerland-based career he has collaborated with local architecture firms for various project types from campus construction and office buildings, to residential and hospitality facilities. His international experience includes partnering with American firms on large-scale projects.
KELLY HROMADKA, DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONSÂ (Los Angeles, California)
In her three years at Montalba, Hromadka has remained steadfast in her dedication to elevating the firm’s business operations. In addition to developing operational efficiency initiatives, her keen perspective for detail regarding day-to-day project management has allowed the firm to be continuously ambitious in its pursuit for project diversification. Her capacity, disciplined and forward thinking approach is a fundamental part of business framework and we are excited about her next level engagement in the Financial aspects of our business and practice.
GREGG OELKER, ASSOCIATEÂ (Los Angeles, California)

Oelker is a self-driven, thoughtful, and methodical leader at the firm. He has worked on a variety of project types and brings extensive residential experience to the studio. His specialties lie in aligning client ambitions with a solution-orientated, cohesive design vision. For the last six years at Montalba, he has applied specialized insight of the construction process to his projects and has proactively solved complex construction landscapes, making him a standout in project delivery. He is an effective mentor and his impact of teaching those around him magnifies his capabilities as a leader on team projects.
CILLIAN MAGEE, ASSOCIATEÂ (Los Angeles, California)
Previous Position, Senior Designer
Having studied and worked throughout the European Union prior to joining Montalba, Magee brings an extensive international hospitality perspective to the project team. Throughout his three-year tenure at the firm, he has demonstrated his ability to lead design teams and push projects toward better technical execution. Magee has helped manage complex projects and client relationships with steadiness and commitment and sets an admirable example of leadership within the firm.
STEPHANIE RYCHNER-ROUX, ASSOCIATEÂ (Lausanne, Switzerland)

With experience leading a large range of hospitality and commercial projects, Rychner-Roux has a specialized focus in designing Montalba’s high-end retail projects. With experience working across both offices, her strong communications skills aid in her ability to oversee the staff at the Swiss office while providing a direct leadership connection with the Los Angeles team. Rychner-Roux’s steadfast, capable leadership, and dedication to the growth of the studio, have positively shaped the teams she serves.
KYLE ENGOIAN, SENIOR DESIGNERÂ (Los Angeles, California)
Previous Position, Designer
Throughout his three years at the firm, Engoian has demonstrated skill in assembling crafted design documentation as a trusted resource for design graphics, and in navigating complex project conditions with confidence. Kyle continues to craft well established and productive partnerships between Clients, team members and consultants. His enthusiastic spirit and drive to improve are his main motivators.
