New York-based studio Projects Design Associates spices up the bustling Foggy Bottom section of Washington, DC with Bindaas, a new restaurant that channels Mumbai’s urban streetscapes and Indian food markets.
A nod to Indian food markets, baskets surround custom pendants whose neutral shade and soft glow contrast the moody tones of Bindaas‘ interior, thanks to a design from Projects Design Associates.
Cheeky artwork depicts imagery from towering Indian strongmen to a woman with a four-fingered ring that reads “boom.”
Outfitted with an open kitchen, Bindaas features a contemporary design inspired by small bistro-type eateries throughout Mumbai.
A feature wall adorned with custom murals pays homage to the graffiti that serves as a backdrop to India’s urban streetscapes.
