The restaurant Feast India Co., nicknamed the Pink Zebra, is housed within one of the oldest structures in Kanpur, India.
Inspired by the colorways of India’s British Raj era, Renesa Architecture Design Interiors added black and white zebra stripes to the bold pink palette.
The quirky Art Nouveau glitz juxtaposes more refined, historic details.
The retro vibes of the restaurant and bar also draw inspiration from the movies and visual language of filmmaker Wes Anderson.
Basic geometric forms further express an Art Nouveau sensibility.
Pink Zebra spans 4,000 square feet and two stories, including a lounge and bar upstairs, a dining area downstairs, and a covered terrace.
Symmetry and a restricted color palette convey a surrealist quality.
The striking look of the restaurant creates a magical environment with the use of stripes breaking up the monotony of the simple color palette.
