Located below Hong Kong’s Standard Chartered Bank landmark, Mott 32 restaurant recalls its history in an eclectic design. Completed by HD Wave of the Future honoree Joyce Wang, the space also honors 32 Mott Street in New York—the center of what is now Chinatown. Photography by Edmon Leong

The snaking passage down into the restaurant became an asset with the addition of a heavy-metal chain chandelier, which drapes from the top of the staircase to the bottom level. The opening into the main kitchen showcases the chefs alongside a display of hanging ducks. Reminiscent of the Qing dynasty, wait stations boast inset silk embroidered paneling and custom hardware trims. Photography by Edmon Leong
