The details: A driving force behind the design narrative for the Carriage House, a swanky golf club that doubles as a dining destination at the enchanting Adare Manor hotel and golf resort set on 840 acres in Limerick, Ireland is “a real tangible sense of history and natural beauty,” says Simon Rawlings, creative director of London firm David Collins Studio. Natural materials marry a rich palette of deep green, burgundy, and ivory, all of which nod to “the surrounding traditional walled gardens,” he adds.


Guests arrive through an arched rotunda in the grand lobby lined with wine displays, antique chandeliers, and several doorways leading to the club’s offerings, including a restaurant, an intimate private dining chamber with a leaf motif wall, a “snug and comfortable” cigar lounge, a hidden cellar bar for private wine tastings, and a terrace overlooking the lush grounds with 200-year-old trees. Just beyond, the sophisticated Tack Room, which was once home to equestrian equipment, now offers a luxurious spin on the traditional pub experience with damson embossed leather dressing walls, custom horsehair furniture, and striking Marmore Verde Lapponia marble for the bar countertop.
