The sun-drenched Library, on the second floor, features globally sourced furniture to accent wide-plank wood floors, plaster walls, and plush area rugs.

Sheepskins are draped over the Library’s velvet and leather armchairs to instill a sense of informality within the multifunctional space.

The soft, inviting guestrooms—including the Howard Deluxe suite—feature oak furniture, natural bamboo rugs, a custom lighting collection from Space Copenhagen, as well as ceramic wall art from artist Katie Yang, whose work is showcased in each room.

Bleached oak panels wrap the lobby’s 15-foot-tall ceilings, complemented by polished concrete floors.

Sculptural furniture and a limited edition mobile, Untitled, by Alexander Calder add a modern flare to the lobby.

A custom blackened steel cylindrical spiral staircase makes a striking impression in the atrium as it links the lobby to public spaces on the second floor. 

Local architecture firm Beyer Blinder Belle, along with Space Copenhagen and Andrei, updated the building—originally built as a postal storage facility in 1961—with new terrace suites, a steel storefront, an entry marquee, and a façade that celebrates the neighborhood’s industrial character.

The south-facing wall of the hotel features a 150-foot-by-50-foot mural designed by students from New York-based art collective Groundswell, who were mentored by Jeff Koons. With a female silhouette acting as a backdrop, the piece celebrates SoHo with symbolic imagery including cobblestones, an industrial worker, and the signature crown logo of former neighborhood resident Jean-Michel Basquiat.
