Soho House Chicago is housed in the circa-1907 former Chicago Belting Factory building.

The Allis is one of the property’s restaurants that is open to the public, and is named after the family that originally commissioned the building.

The members’ only club floor is home to a unique contemporary art collection, with pieces from artists including Theaster Gates, Kerry James Marshall, and Damien Hirst.

The drawing room provides a space for members to meet and relax, and boasts a eclectic midcentury look with a concrete fireplace and a color palette of pale pink, blue, and sage green.

Chicken Shop, which also has several locations in London, is another public restaurant.

Cowshed Spa features some of the original building’s concrete walls. “We spent a lot of time photographing and walking the space,” says Soho House Group’s design director Vicky Charles. “We wanted to retain as much of the original building as we could.”

“We are always collecting great pieces of furniture, one-of-a-kind work; we decorate houses like you decorate your home,” Charles says.
