Designed by Kohler Co., the completed multiphase renovation of the American Club Resort Hotel in Kohler, Wisconsin showcases the company’s plumbing and interiors products.

The biggest challenges during the redesign revolved around creating guestrooms, public spaces, and dining areas that maintained historic characteristics of the 100-year-old building.

Guestrooms boast striking design elements that incorporate rich colored draperies, dark wood accents, and elegant furnishings. “The eclectic mix of furniture with purposely mismatched finishes and styles mimics a collector’s cozy home,” says Christine Loose, director hotels of the American Club.

Four rooms at the hotel are named in honor of Kohler family members, most notably the Ruth DeYoung Kohler room, also known as the Eau de Vie suite, which provides six different spa sensory journeys with water, sound, lights, and steam.

The suite’s sōkTM overflowing bathtub with chromatherapy “fills from the ceiling, providing stunning visual imagery to the bathing experience,” explains Loose.

The Carriage House, a 55-room annex at the American Club, is done in the same color scheme as the American Club. “From the new entrance to the renovated rooms, every part of the experience has been enhanced and elevated,” says Loose.
