Amanyara in Turks & Caicos has unveiled a complete refurbishment of its 38 pavilions. In anticipation of the resort’s 15th anniversary next year, the rejuvenation welcomes a new chapter for this pristine Caribbean oasis, which is set on the shores of a 7,200-hectare nature reserve on the island of Providenciales. Contemporary in layout and design, Amanyara’s timber-shingled, stand-alone pavilions are sensitively integrated into their natural surroundings.
The pavilions received a complete upgrade with new, custom-made beds that are draped in soft linens. In addition, new furniture for both indoors and outdoors has been added to each pavilion and the bathrooms have been refurbished to include deep soaking stand-alone bathtubs. The upgraded bathroom fixtures also include custom-designed mirrors and contemporary light fittings. In collaboration with global design practice Olson Kundig, the resort’s original and iconic Jean Michel Gathy minimalistic design has been preserved throughout and the pavilions have retained their focus on the integration of the indoors and outdoors. The expansive terraces can be accessed via floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open onto an airy bedroom and living area.
