Hotelier Ian Schrager’s EDITION Hotels is set to further expand its global footprint with the rollout of four new international properties next year. The new additions will grow the Marriott brand’s portfolio to 14 units worldwide.
“I’ve always been committed to being involved in special projects on a global scale that go to places that no one has been before,” Schrager says. “I’m thrilled to work in partnership with Marriott and the opportunity to see these hotels come to life across the world is a dream come true.”
The rollout will kick off in summer 2021 with the launch of the Reykjavik EDITION. Located adjacent to the Harpa Concert Hall, the 253-room hotel will feature a design from New York-based practices T-Arch Studio and Roman and Williams and amenities like a rooftop lounge, nightlife concept, and signature dining.
Fall 2021 will yield the debut of Tokyo EDITION, Ginza, which will join the soon-to-open Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon, a new-build near Chuo Street that will house 78 guestrooms and suites, three F&B options, a meeting studio, and fitness center.
The 95-key Rome EDITION will then debut, featuring F&B venues such as the Punch Room Bar and a rooftop terrace overlooking nearby landmarks. The Dubai EDITION, located in the city’s downtown corridor, will round out the brand’s fall openings. Crafted by locally based LW Design Group LLC, the 210-room property will be home to three dining concepts, a pool, spa, fitness center, and numerous meeting and event spaces.
“I look forward to 2021 being our best year yet,” Schrager adds.
