A series of design and operational promotions, including the appointment of its first-ever director of operations, have been announced at global design firm BAMO. “These promotions represent the next generation of the firm,” says BAMO principal Michael Booth. “Collectively, they have an incredible body of knowledge and projects. They are a united force with diverse backgrounds, strengths, and experiences that support and complement each other. There’s a renewed energy and momentum to the firm as we look to the future.”
Following 20 years with BAMO, Amaza Lam has been promoted to lead designer, senior associate. Lam’s expansive knowledge of Chinese culture and languages will serve the firm as it pursues future opportunities in Asia. “Maintaining close relationships with our Asian clients has been a rewarding experience,” Lam adds. “It’s allowed me to grow professionally and personally with each new project.” Also elevated to senior associate is Martin Oestlund, who has lent his expertise to BAMO for 18 years and served on projects for major hospitality brands, including Waldorf Astoria and Four Seasons. Janet Mercier will promote an emphasis on sustainability and wellness across projects in her new role as interior architect, senior associate. With ample project manager experience, Ryan Barr will now serve as an associate as well.
Addy Williams has been named BAMO’s maiden director of operations, following eight years with the practice and an additional 15 years of hospitality, interior design, and construction management experience. Lauren McGuier, who also brings forth 15 years of hospitality and senior living experience, has been elevated to residential project manager.
