Carnival Corporation has appointed Marie McKenzie as vice president of global destinations services and sourcing, a new position at the company.
The new role entails leading a team of experts who, on behalf of the nine corporate brands, are responsible for the company’s geographical regions. McKenzie will additionally lead in assembling shore excursions and port experiences.
McKenzie began working at the Carnival Corporation in 1996 and has held numerous roles, such as vice president of fleet accounting. She also served as Carnival’s vice president of global financial planning and analysis; led the way in capturing, consolidating, and analyzing data across the nine brands; and participated in the corporation’s annual planning process and long-term strategy execution.
“We are excited to have Marie take on this new role, and with her proven track record in her past 19 years at Carnival, we know she will lead this team to great success,” says the company’s COO Alan Buckelew. “Having had global responsibilities in her previous role and partnering with the global strategy team, we know she will bring to this new role extensive knowledge of our operating companies and a deep understanding of our overall vision to work together across our nine brands to consistently exceed guest expectations.”
Hailing from Jamaica, West Indies, McKenzie graduated from Howard University, with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She also obtained her master’s degree in international business from Florida International University.
