New York–based firm Champalimaud Design has appointed two new principal designers: Matoula Karagiannis and Kajsa Krause. Both new additions bring forth more than 20 years of design expertise.
Karagiannis returns to Champalimaud, following tenure as the vice president of design at Sydell Group and numerous other design roles at Wilson Associates, Wyndham Worldwide, and HBA. She previously worked with Champalimaud during its early days in Montreal and went on to helm the firm’s Los Angeles office and hold a senior role with the firm in New York office.
A cofounder of New York firm Krause Sawyer (now known as Sawyer & Company), Krause’s design experience also includes working as a senior designer at global design practice Rockwell Group.
“We’re delighted to welcome Matoula and Kajsa to our team with their leadership skills and expertise working in the lifestyle and hospitality space,” says Ed Bakos, CEO of Champalimaud Design. “We are excited to continue growing our senior design team and expand the creative voices within our studio. Their respective talents will allow us to continue to diversify our scope and expand our offering as a design firm.”
