Destination Hotels and Commune Hotels + Resorts have appointed Todd Wynne-Parry as the executive vice president of global acquisitions and development for the newly merged companies, a title he has held with Commune since 2015. He will oversee business growth and expansion efforts for the company’s five distinct brands—including Joie de Vivre Hotels, Thompson Hotels, Tommie, and Alila Hotels & Resorts—while also leading a newly formed team that includes Andrew Heilmann and Catie Mangels, both in the role of vice president of acquisitions and development; and Bryan Hulbard, senior analyst of feasibility and investments.
Wynne-Parry has held numerous senior leadership roles in hotel development throughout his more than 25 years in the industry with companies such as Starwood, IHG, Marriott, and Trump. He joined Commune in 2014 as senior vice president of hotel acquisitions and development and was promoted in January 2015 to executive vice president of global acquisitions and development.
The newly merged company is currently developing new properties in Austin, Chicago, Hollywood, Kansas City, New Orleans, and San Antonio. It also recently debuted the Thompson Seattle.
