Rockville, Maryland-based HVS Design has announced that Kristi L. Newton has joined the firm as design director. Bringing forth more than 25 years of design expertise, Newton will oversee and manage the design team, as well as contribute to hospitality projects. She previously held leadership roles at RD Jones and Associates, Streetsense, the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, and Walt Disney Imagineering.

Her outstanding reputation, unique experience, and superior talent make her a welcome addition,” says HVS principal Christine Shanahan. “As HVS Design grows and broadens our portfolio, we look forward to Kristi working with us as the company continues to deliver exceptional designs for our clients and their guests.”
Newton holds a bachelor of science in design from the University of Minnesota, a master of architecture from the University of Miami, and a master of business administration from the Keller Graduate School.
Upcoming HVS projects include a new Hyatt Place in Kent Narrows, Maryland and the Inn at Bayside in Fenwick Island, Delaware.
