Tiffany Cooper has been appointed the head of development for North America and the Caribbean for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. Bringing forth nearly three decades of experience in hospitality, Cooper will be responsible for leading the Kimpton development team and helming the IHG brand’s continued growth efforts through hotel conversions, adaptive reuse, and new-build opportunities. “We are excited to have such a seasoned veteran lead the Kimpton development team,” says Kimpton CEO Mike DeFrino. “Tiffany knows the business inside and out, and her passion and understanding of our brand will lead Kimpton into a continued era of growth.”
Cooper’s career began in 1995 when she first joined Kimpton as in sales and marketing operations. She continued her work in operations when she joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 1999 before transitioning to Starwood’s real estate development group in 2005 and expanding the brand’s portfolio in Western markets. Following Marriott International’s acquisition of Starwood in 2016, Cooper joined the Marriott development team and eventually returned to Kimpton in 2018.
“Having worked with Kimpton for several years, I couldn’t be more excited to take the next step in my career with a company and iconic hotel brand that is so close to my heart,” Cooper says. “I am looking forward to continuing Kimpton’s era of growth in North America and expanding our footprint to new markets.”
