Los Angeles-based sbe Hotel Group has announced the appointment of Jason Hsiang as senior vice president of development, a newly created role that will strengthen the company’s development efforts. In his new position, Hsiang will oversee the expansion of all sbe hotel brands including SLS, SLS LUX, Hyde, and Redbury, as well as actively pursue management contracts and investment opportunities in the U.S. and select international markets.
Hsiang brings 15 years of hotel and acquisition experience to the role. Prior to joining sbe, he served as senior vice president of development at SIXTY Hotels. Previously, he held senior development roles at Commune Hotels + Resorts and Morgans Hotel Group, along with real estate acquisition positions at Northstar Capital and Lazard Freres Real Estate Investors.
Currently, sbe has 17 projects in development or late-stage negotiations, and will add more than 2,700 keys, and 2,800 residences, to seven existing properties in the coming years. Hsiang will also oversee the SLS and Hyde brands, and the opening of the SLS Brickell, a mixed-use development in Miami set to debut this summer.
“With our exceptional growth rate, we have actively been searching for the right development executive that will be forward-thinking and creative, and feel Jason’s qualifications, experience, and background perfectly matches our brands and our rapid expansion needs,” says Arash Azarbarzin, president of sbe Hotel Group.
“I am delighted to join sbe and further the exceptional growth momentum of its world renowned and fully integrated lifestyle hotel brands,” adds Hsiang.
