Architect Tim Keil has been elevated to the role of principal at Phoenix-based architecture and environmental design practice Studio Ma. A 15-year veteran of the firm, Keil holds a degree from the University of Oregon. Some recent projects he hhas collaborated on include the expansion of the Phoenix Art Museum and the Native American Cultural Center at Northern Arizona University.
“The traditions of North American building craft and artisanry have informed the best modern works, from Frank Lloyd Wright to James Cutler to my architecture school mentor Will Bruder,” says Keil, who also minored in architectural history. “Whether it’s how our buildings respond to the environment or in the articulation and profile of each assembly or element, the attention to detail and performance is an essential throughline in our architectural legacy.”
