The Hospitality Diversity Action Council (HDAC) has announced Kamille Glenn, founder of dsgnrs.wrkshp, as the winner of its sixth annual Awards of Excellence. The honor recognizes exemplary work by individuals and companies that are working to advance the hospitality industry through the promotion of diversity, inclusivity, and equity.
A native of Brooklyn, New York, Glenn’s multidisciplinary design work spans interior, furniture, and experiential concepts that emphasize connection, resistance, and liberation. Glenn served as an associate at Rockwell Group for seven years, before launching dsgnrs.wrkshp in 2019 to address a lack of diverse social impact and siloed nature in design. The collective serves as a source of connection, employment, and education for radical storytellers, while centering Black makers of the African diaspora.
Last year, Glenn introduced dsgnrs.studio, a brainchild of dsgnrs.wrkshp, to further explore design expressions of wellbeing, cultural and epistemic justice, preservation, and imagination. The studio’s inaugural project, Marcus DC from chef Marcus Samuelsson, was completed in June 2025.
In 2026, Glenn joined the Studio Valerius team as partner and fellow advocate for social and environmental harmony through design. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with honors in interior design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
“Kamille is an inspiration to the community and a creative juggernaut who has authored some of the most iconic moments of our industry,” says Paris Swann, a HDAC member and vice president of concept architecture and resort development at Universal Creative. “She has dedicated her career to championing—proving that disruptive thinking and inclusion not only have a place in design but are the creative fuel of the hospitality industry.
Glenn, along with all of this year’s HD Awards winners and finalists, will be honored on May 5th during a ceremony at Encore Resort at the Wynn Las Vegas, held in conjunction with HD Expo + Conference. Purchase tickets today!
