Maison&Objet is going virtual. Instead of hosting the September 2020 fair in person in Paris, the 14-day event will take place digitally September 4–18th. The fair, including all showrooms and programming will be hosted on its online platform, MOM. Discussion topics will include finding inspiration in quarantine, the home as a veritable refuge, and what’s next.
“Although there are encouraging signs of the pandemic beginning to decrease, we believe there are still far too many uncertainties regarding the travel conditions for international exhibitors and visitors,” says Maison&Objet managing director Philippe Brocart. “Furthermore, the lack of clarity regarding the ability to hold large gatherings in early September in France has played a major part in influencing our decision to call off the September edition of Maison&Objet, despite the fact that 80 percent of stands had already been reserved by April 2020.”
Maison&Objet remains on track to host its next fair onsite January 22–26, 2021.
