Rosewood Hotels and Resorts will a two week, $1.5 million enhancement of its Rosewood Mayakoba hotel in September.
“The upcoming enhancement project is a further testament to our commitment to continually refining the guest experience, and we look forward to welcoming guests back to rediscover the best of the Riviera Maya this September,” says Daniel Scott, managing director of Rosewood Mayakoba.
Located on a 1,600-acre plot in the Riviera Maya just north of Playa del Carmen in Mexico, the 130-suite hotel will see renovations to its guest accommodations, four dining outlets, and public spaces. In addition to the reconfiguration of its Beachside Lagoonview suites, the property is also planning on the addition of four two-bedroom Mayakoba suites, outdoor rain showers for its Beachfront studio suites, and a general revamp of its lobby and walkways.
The resort’s new Mayakoba suites will feature a master bedroom and bath on the ground level and a bedroom, bathroom, living room, dining table, and outdoor terrace on the second floor. The second-floor bathroom will feature a rain shower, while the terrace will be equipped with a plunge pool.
Outdoor seating, a two-person hammock, spacious double showers, chaise lounges, and an outdoor dining table will create a residential feel in the Beachside Lagoonview suites.
Several enhancements are also planned for Rosewood Mayakoba’s restaurants, including a new deck for the Casa del Lago eatery, and an expanded kitchen and lagoon-level dining area at Agave Azul Sushi Bar and Tequila Library.
Current amenities include a signature Greg Norman championship golf course, the Casa del Lago and Punta Bonita restaurants, and the Sense spa.
The resort was recently awarded Rainforest Alliance certification.
