The InterContinental Washington, DC, the Wharf has unveiled its latest F&B concept, the rooftop 12 Stories. Los Angeles-based Chris Sheffield spearheaded the design of the sexy, modern dive, which embraces a panoramic backdrop of the Potomac River and the skyline of the Nation’s Capital.
An industrial-chic aesthetic permeates the space, which is lined with concrete floors and wired pendulum lighting. Velvet, marble, leather, and wood complement cool notes of blue conveyed by poufs and banquettes. The 3,500-square-foot venue comprises three designated zones that each frame a unique vantage point of the Wharf and beyond. Thirteen-foot-tall windows flood the bar with light, while a sprawling, 26-foot-long glass wall opens to an outdoor terrace.
