Local firm GEOM Design’s design for a grab-and-go coffee shop and burger joint in Guangzhou, China is a head-turner starting with its red brick-laced façade. Dramatic in its simplicity, the raw, tactile exterior displays no illuminated signage, making the small storefront stand out in the sleek architectural style of its fast-paced neighborhood. Paired with polished aluminum counters, the naturally sourced bricks comprise clay, argil, and shale, and can easily be recycled. Home to JPG coffee & LAB burger, the take-out eatery is entirely free of indoor space for patrons, tapping into the kinetic energy of its hip location.
