LDV Hospitality, the group behind restaurants like Scarpetta and American Cut, has unveiled a new all-day dining experience in New York: Barlume.
Barlume, meaning “glimmer” in Italian, radiates the warmth and spirit of coastal Italy. Located in the city’s bustling Flatiron District, the three-level space offers a distinct experience for every moment of the day.
The splendor of the café and dining room
Designed by Italian architectural designer Anton Cristell, the café radiates old-world elegance via earthy tones, natural textures and materials, and classic light fixtures. The focal point is a striking 20-seat bar—elevated and topped with Arabescato Vagli marble—that features green subway tiles and overlooks an antique mirrored backdrop adorned with bottles of Italian wine. As day turns to night, the café transforms into a lively wine bar.
Seating a total of 150 guests, the café and dining room exude luxury, with brushed velvet banquettes, wood and cane chairs, and burnished brass tables with Breccia Pernice marble tops that contrast the space’s Verde Alpi marble floors.
An intimate experience at Barlume Downstairs
For those seeking a more exclusive experience, the subterranean cocktail club, Barlume Downstairs, offers a hidden escape in a seductive, intimate atmosphere. Here, warmth prevails with golden velvet seating, deep leather, and dark wood accents, complemented by a gold leaf bar and illuminated amber glass brick walls.
The dining destination also houses the salon, a private space that can accommodate up to 25 guests.
“Barlume is our tribute to both New York and Italy—a celebration of vibrant energy and laid-back elegance,” says John Meadow, founder and president of LDV Hospitality. “We wanted to create a space where you can enjoy every part of the day, from an early morning coffee to late-night cocktails, all while experiencing the incredible flavors of the Mediterranean.”
