Gastronomic concept Compartir channels the Mediterranean town of Cadaqués in Barcelona’s Eixample district. A design scheme from locally based El Equipo Creativo conjures the artsy spirit of the hamlet from a contemporary, urban perspective. “The objective was to bring warm, light materiality to the space,” says El Equipo Creativo cofounder and creative director Natali Canas del Pozo. “We thoroughly researched traditional and local construction techniques and materials of the Spanish Mediterranean coast, specifically those of Cadaqués.”
Blanched industrial bones instill the air of an art gallery, complete with large-scale abstract pieces that blast azure hues into the space and complement natural terracotta elements with ease. A natural materiality comprising wicker, stucco, ceramic tiles, and slate line the interior with a human touch. Curved mirrors and wicker partitions soften the textural backdrop, accented by warm light scattered throughout the dining room. Lighting is also creatively sheathed in wild bouquets of dried flora suspended from the ceiling above tables. Sprawling driftwood sculptures and backbar shelving washed in pastel blue injects another focal point as well.
