Monaco-based architecture and design firm Humbert & Poyet has unveiled its design of the new winery experience, Ultimate Provence, in the wine capital of France. The intimate environment is set against a largely urban backdrop in an effort to fully reinterpret the conventions of the traditional wine estate.
Raw and contemporary materials are employed to highlight the unique character of the establishment. Concrete juxtaposes noble materials including aged oak, marble, brass, and leather. Aegean blues adorn the walls of the inviting living spaces, offsetting the brass of the hanging lights and sconces to establish a vivid contrast between color and the material palettes. Large glazed bronze doors partition different areas of the interior, which is accented with notes of sage and sepia inspired by the lush vineyards of Provence.
