Chicago-based design firm Studio K Creative has crafted Jaja, a new supper club and lounge in the Ohio City section of Cleveland. The modern concept embodies elegance and a sense of wanderlust with an eclectic, free-spirited flair. “Jaja is inspired by a traveled woman, a whimsy gypsy, and her story along the way,” says Studio K founder and creative director Karen Herold. “Jaja overloads the visual senses and transports guests to a location overseas versus embracing the grit and industrial nature of Cleveland.”
Curated artwork and taxidermy permeate the vibrant design, which is distinguished by a medley of warm finishes—from column and bar tiles to wallcoverings in the entry vestibule. Verdant greenery complements eccentric patterns and plush fabrics throughout the modern steakhouse, which features eye-catching natural stone and other ornate details.
The central focal point of the concept is a lush floral canopy that ensconces guests while accenting the retractable glass roof. “All of these textures, layered together, draw the eye throughout the room and are the perfect blend of standing out while also marrying together versus competing with one another,” Herold adds.
