Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the Morpheus City of Dreams development in Macau has introduced two new F&B venues led by Alain Ducasse. Both Voyages by Alain Ducasse and Alain Ducasse at Morpheus have been unveiled with designs by Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku. Located on the third floor of the sprawling complex, both restaurants welcome visitors in a circulation area that comprises wall-mounted lanterns, undulating walnut walls and ceilings, and sculpted glass that frames the sky.
Voyages is outfitted into the north side of the tower, crafted to look like a French bistro with a refined Asian aesthetic. A monumental, backlit bar anchors the interior of Voyages and illuminates the space akin to a contemporary chandelier, while a mini mobile bar further complements the informal ambiance of the space. Inspired by the persimmons commonly found in the local markets, bright orange floors and ceilings partition the bar from the 116-seat dining room where green foliage abounds. Morpheus serves as a more intimate contrast to Voyages, welcoming visitors with two private salons for guests arriving early to sit beside intricate glass table designs. Clusters of extruded and blown glass are suspended from the restaurant’s ceiling above three dining suites that comprise the entirety of the restaurant. Each suite is wrapped with clouded glass that leads diners to a small private salon for post-dinner unwinding.
