Local restaurateur Curt Huegel has announced his latest Manhattan eatery in partnership with Host Restaurants. Printers Alley, named for Nashville’s eponymous and iconic alleyway, is a traditional Southern experience reimagined for New York, complete with a laidback ambiance that radiates the spirit of Nashville.
Brooklyn, New York-based designer Tara Oxley crafted the two-story eatery to evoke a warm, lived-in quality, using rusted corrugated metals and reclaimed woods. Also a live music venue, the atmosphere conveys intimacy across its three “stages,” which recall front porches synonymous with Southern homes. A brick wall recreates Nashville’s Printers Alley experience, clad with custom neon signage and vintage-style posters. Bottles and glassware sourced from some of Nashville’s top vintage shops are featured throughout the restaurant’s full bar.
Connecting both levels, a staircase is surrounded by additional vintage posters, along with microphones and recorders showcased in custom shadowboxes. Also on display is a custom Nudie suit, country music’s quintessential uniform.
