Susurros del Corazón, Auberge Resorts Collection, which opened in Punta de Mita, Mexico in November 2022, features three distinct dining venues.
The design of the F&B concepts, courtesy of Los Angeles-based Studio Collective, pays homage to Mexican craftsmanship and artistry. “The site and local craft became our two primary sources of inspiration through which every design decision was filtered,” says Studio Collective principal Adam Goldstein. “Although built from the ground up, the design of the restaurant is intended to evoke the feeling that it has always been here and has gradually aged over time.”
The lush open-air La Boquita and refined Casamilpa are located adjacent to each other, while La Piscina offers poolside dining in the adults-only pool area.
Rustic woods, locally sourced stone, and hand-troweled plaster form a simple but textural backdrop for La Boquita, which is partitioned by a series of whitewashed Guayabillo posts. Custom hanging lanterns are suspended from a pair of overgrown Papelillo trees, illuminating sundrenched materials that present a refined patina. Enclaves of plush sofas are also installed atop overlapping handwoven carpets, while rope swings attached to overhead wooden trellises banquettes built into a rock retaining wall are positioned to maximize sunset views.
Casamilpa, which opens to a beachside deck through sliding glass doors, is distinguished by a more sophisticated aesthetic complete with dark flagstone, raked plaster, and aged wood beams. A private dining room clad in lava stone boasts its own private courtyard, while alfresco dining tables are protected by dense wooden trellises.
