Atlanta-based architecture and design firm Square Feet Studio has unveiled two new F&B concepts within the same storefront in its hometown. Located in the city’s Poncey-Highland neighborhood, the cocktail lounge Southern Belle and the corresponding chef’s table experience Georgia Boy both feature designs inspired from the vernacular of the city’s Art Deco-style Plaza Theatre development, which is adorned with an iconic marquis and neon signage.
Eclectic Southern-aspired details converge at Southern Belle, where curved corners highlight the Moderne elements evident in the Plaza development. Beyond soft archways, the petite curved bar is installed beneath an overhead soffit and punctuated with blue neon signage reading “Bless Your Heart.” The blue light also complements the same-colored lacquered tabletops and milk accessories, as well as high-gloss trims.
Tucked behind the neighboring tenant space, Georgia Boy evokes intimacy as it welcomes eight guests at a time through a clandestine bookshelf entrance to the private dining environment. Unique artwork subtly lines the walls above the bright open kitchen and the large concrete and steel dining tables. Handmade light fixtures and leather stools accented with brass are also featured to infuse a refined touch to the interiors.
