Virgin Hotels has inaugurated its third property in the Lone Star State. Rising above the city’s Dall Design District, Virgin Hotels Dallas is situated within a new-built property, crafted by locally based architecture firm 5G Studio Collaborative. Developed by Dunhill Partners, the hotel’s design team also included Dallas-based designer of record SWOON, the studio as well as Austin-based practice Joel Mozersky Design.
Called “chambers,” the hotel’s accommodations embrace an airy ambiance supported by warm textiles and locally sourced light fixtures. Each unit is endowed with a full vanity installed between dual closet systems made of white oak, which is separated from the lounge space by sliding wooden doors. In addition, the new Virgin outpost is also home to two penthouse suites.
Beyond the hotel’s versatile indoor-outdoor event spaces is the Pool Club attached to a rooftop terrace. The flagship restaurant and bar, Commons Club evokes the playful flair of a modern social hub, while the Kitchen by Matt McCallister conveys a French influence. The Funny Library Coffee Shop on the ground floor serves as a flexible communal workspace outfitted with walnut-paneling and a coffered ceiling with brass inlays. Vines sprawl across the walls and custom gate of the onsite Secret Garden, which boasts Texas-inspired touches like a hanging chair, hot tub, and illuminating steel bar.
