Campari Group has unveiled a new F&B venue dedicated to its Aperol brand inside a historic palace located in Venice, Italy’s Campo Santo Stefano city square. Crafted by Milan- and Shanghai-based design studio Vudafieri Saverino Partners, Terrazza Aperol spans more than 2,150 square feet, and pays homage to the brand’s century-long legacy as well as its contemporary spirit.
“Terrazza Aperol is a balance of Venetian roots and Aperol global attitude,” says Vudafieri Saverino partner Tiziano Vudafieri. “We took inspiration from Venetian historical elements that we revisited in a modern way.”
A cosmopolitan air pervades the space through a balance of old and new. Custom Venetian mirrors were refurbished as digital monitors, while handmade wall stucco and reclaimed wooden floors are detailed with fluorescent orange inserts.
Outfitted with backlit orange glass, the bar serves as the nucleus of the interior, topped with 3D-produced recycled polycarbonate panels and accented by ceiling lighting strips and handmade pendants that nod to Venetian history. A long micro bench is complemented by small integrated folding tables apt for lounging as well.
In the dining room, casual benches and stools abound along with bistro-style seating and tables that evoke a bespoke sensibility. A 970-square-foot patio is also featured.
“We wanted guests to experience the joy of life that characterize the world of Aperol,” adds Vudafieri Saverino partner Claudio Saverino. “The aim of the project was to create an inclusive, interactive, dynamic, engaging, convivial, and cosmopolitan space, where guests could live a true Italian social ritual.”
