The project restored many of the hotel’s original features, and added modern accents and architectural features, such as in the Grand Salon where a backlit skylight was installed to simulate natural light. “We also stripped back the paint to reveal the original terracotta and dark beige color palette—a foundation for the entire scheme,” says Fiona Thompson, principal of Richmond International.
