Following guidelines by local and federal governments, hotels and resorts across the globe are slowly reopening their doors with social distancing and cleanliness protocols in place. See below for a list of properties that are resuming operations.
The Woodlands Resort reopened its doors on May 20th in the Woodlands, Texas, as it kicks off the first phase of a dual-phase reopening. Nearly 100 rooms are open for reservations onsite and each is treated with enhanced cleanliness and sanitation protocols that adhere to CDC guidelines.
The Château Élan reopened in Atlanta on the heels of a $25 million renovation by local firm BLUR Workshop. The retreat’s initial reopening phase, known as Experience Chateau Clean, will promote social distancing with new signage across all 3,500 acres of the property. Hygienic seals are now attached to all guestroom doors. The onsite spa, swimming pools, and select dining venues are poised to reopen in early June with alterations to further promote guest safety.
In Akko, Israel, the 12-room Efendi Hotel reopened for domestic visitors in alignment with the official guidelines of the Israel Ministry of Health. A slew of upgrades including refreshed motifs and frescos have also been unveiled to highlight recently executed renovations that accentuate the property’s unique character.
The La Ventanas al ParaÃso, a Rosewood Resort will begin to welcome visitors again on July 1st. The 12-acre getaway in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico will adopt social distancing measures, while onsite F&B venues like Arbol will spread out dining tables. Extensive cleaning sanitation measures have yielded the addition of ozone machines in guestrooms and spa treatment rooms.

The Breakers Palm Beach has announced its return with an extensive breakdown of its enhanced health and safety plans—from employee practices to cleaning products and protocols. In a 16-page dossier, leadership with the Breakers outlined guidelines for isolating guests who are symptomatic and providing them with medical assistance as needed. Physical distancing will be widely enforced in both indoor and outdoor communal areas, which will also feature sanitizing resources. The Pendry San Diego reopened on June 2nd with new health and safety measures that have been formed in response to guidance from leading experts and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). All F&B spaces are offering takeout service and limited seating capacities. In addition to socially distanced tables, diners are also given disposable or digital menus.
Beginning on June 15th, The Mark hotel in New York will welcome guests once again. The ritzy boutique property, located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, will adhere to the official AHLA and CDC recommendations for sanitation and cleanliness.
In Palm Beach, Florida, Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa will reopen on July 1st in tandem with its seventh anniversary. Amenities, such as the Eau Spa and fitness center, will return in phases—aligning with federal and local health and safety guidelines. F&B venues will space out tables to encourage social distancing and the At Your Service Cocktail Butler will allow guests to order cocktails and have them prepared by a mixologist in the comfort of the room in order to limit capacity in public spaces.
Rosewood Mayakoba has opened its doors again in Mexico’s Riviera Maya, fresh off a recently completed renovation. The property has adopted Rosewood’s global health and safety program, Commitment to Care, to ensure the protection of visitors and encourage guests to embrace the resort’s 620 acres amid social distancing.
Slated for a July 1st reopening, the Montage Deer Valley in Park City, Utah will continue to promote immersive outdoor experiences and wellness services at the 35,000-square-foot Spa Montage Deer Valley.
Ritz-Carlton is set to reopen its iconic Puerto Rican retreat, Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, on July 1st. The 1,400-acre property will return with elevated cleanliness standards in accordance with Marriott International’s recently launched Global Cleanliness Council.
